Deviation Actions
I'm very pleased to say that we had a sudden rush of last-minute of entries just before the deadline, (so the random drawing will be able to go as planned. ), and there are lots of tasty-looking cakes that now need your votes to help them in the Audience Choice category!
To make voting as easy as possible, I've compiled all the entries into one deviation, and assigned each one a number. Simply click here, choose your three favourite entries, and post their corresponding numbers as a comment on the compilation picture (or note them to the club, if you prefer to remain anonymous ).
There will be one Audience Choice winner, as well as a First Place, Runner-Up, and random 'raffle' winner. All winners will be announced on Monday, the 18th--the day after voting ends. Click here for more information on this contest.
In other news, we received a message the other day, seeking help designing a logo for Asexuality Awareness Week. Here's the message:
So, if any of you are aspiring graphic designers, or just have a random great idea of how to represent asexuality, this might be an interesting thing to get involved with.
Have a nice week everyone, and remember, voting ends this coming Sunday, the 17th, at 11:59 PM EST--only about four or five days from now--so please vote as soon as you get the chance.

"I'm part of the asexual awareness week committee, and right now we're looking for a logo design. We can't offer any prizes or anything at the moment, but I was [wondering if] some of you might be interested in participating.
These are the guidelines:
• The logo should say "Asexual Awareness Week". Optionally, you can include the year. You may even wish to make versions of the same logo with and without it.
• Use the colors of the asexual flag.
• Avoid using anything alluding to budding or amoebas (it could be misleading or make asexuality seem like a joke).
• The final logo should be a vector image, but if you don't know how to use any vector drawing tools, don't worry. You can create logos any way you like (even a scanned sketch would be fine). If it gets chosen, someone else can create a vector version for you.
• Include any fonts you used (or if it's vector turn the text into outlines) when you send it.
• If you're using any pantone or web colors, make note of it somewhere. All submissions should be sent to logo@asexualawarenessweek.com by April 20th." [We've been informed that there are some technical issues at the moment regarding this email address. Interested people should instead be send a PM to BlueCerinthe here on deviantART, who will give you an alternate email address and make sure your submissions get through.]

Seeking co-moderator(s)
Hi there, :)
Lately, I've found myself super busy with things outside of dA, and haven't had as much time as I would like in order to give this group the attention that it deserves. For this, I greatly apologize to you all. In hopes of fixing the situation, I've decided it would be best to take on a couple of moderators, who would be able to help keep the submission queue up to date and maybe write the occasional blog post.
If you would like to help out, please send me a note with your qualifications (past experience with managing groups, how much you would be around, etc), by this Friday (the 21st of April), and I'll try to pick some peopl
AVEN T Shirt Design Contest!
In case you haven't heard yet, AVEN is getting ready to participate in SF Pride. They will be involved in several different events, including marching in the parade for their fifth year--which is where you, fellow ace artists, come in! The AVEN contingent needs t-shirts!
Club-of-Aces member AdrianVallence (https://www.deviantart.com/adrianvallence) is running a contest to choose a design to feature on these shirts, and needs your help--and submissions! So if you're an artistically-inclined member of the community--or even if you just have a really good idea that someone else might be able to sketch for you--consider entering this contest! Even if you can just think of a catchy sl

Asexuality 'House'
Greetings, everyone! :)
You might already have heard about this situation, but I thought I'd write a journal about it so anyone who hasn't can be up to date.
Most of you probably have at least some passing familiarity with a TV show called 'House'. It's a popular American medical drama, with a main character loosely inspired by Sherlock Holmes --though much more snarky-- who spends each episode 'solving' the mysterious-disease-of-the-week.
A few weeks ago, word started to spread among various ace communities that asexuality would be featured in an upcoming episode of the show. A promo video had been released that featured Dr. Wilson (anoth

I'm sorry to say, logo@asexualawarenessweek.com doesn't work: everything bounces! I'm working on fixing the problem, but in the mean time Please send me a PM here on deviantART and I'll send you my private e-mail so you can send your entries to me and I can send them on to the committee. I'm terribly sorry about this inconvenience, but we don't want to miss any really great ideas!
