Happy Asexual Awareness Week!
That's right: this Sunday kicks off the second annual 'Asexual Awareness Week' ! Thanks to your donations (yep, they raised enough money! ), groups all over the country are hosting screenings of the new documentary (A)Sexual, and an internet advertising campaign will help raise awareness all week. Also, the results of the Ace Community Census are going to be released tomorrow (Monday, the 24th)!
If you'd like to help spread awareness yourself, there are lots of ways to get involved!
So take part, raise awareness, check if there's a local screening of '(A)Sexual' near you, and have a happy Asexual Awareness Week!
Share your AAW plans and/or awareness-raising ideas in the comments! (Or draw a nice picture of something ace-related! )

You can:
Make fliers (or print some from the AAW website) and post them in your community or school. Many public libraries, for instance, have a bulletin board that anyone can post notices on. Remember: try not to litter or post in no-posting-allowed areas.
Write a journal or news article about asexuality here on deviantART, or any other blog or website you're involved in (personal blogs, LiveJournal, Dreamwidth, etc). If you're in school, you could even see if the people who run the school newspaper would be interested in running a story.
Make a post on Tumblr, Tweet, or update your Facebook status with information about asexuality. A good Twitter posting might be something like, "Asexuality isn't just about amoebas. Check out asexualawarenessweek.com! #Asexuality #AAW").
Change your avatar to something ace-ish for the week! Purple spades, cake, the flag, an ace triangle, whatever you want! You can make your own, or use this cool one that one of our members, Jemiyah, made. You can also do this on other websites--or even in real life by making and wearing an ace button or two! AAW on Facebook has an 'event' you can RSVP to if you plan on changing your FB profile picture for the occasion.
Tell people! It might not seem like explaining something to a single person would make much of a difference, but a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, and the same goes for the path to visibility.
So take part, raise awareness, check if there's a local screening of '(A)Sexual' near you, and have a happy Asexual Awareness Week!

Seeking co-moderator(s)
Hi there, :)
Lately, I've found myself super busy with things outside of dA, and haven't had as much time as I would like in order to give this group the attention that it deserves. For this, I greatly apologize to you all. In hopes of fixing the situation, I've decided it would be best to take on a couple of moderators, who would be able to help keep the submission queue up to date and maybe write the occasional blog post.
If you would like to help out, please send me a note with your qualifications (past experience with managing groups, how much you would be around, etc), by this Friday (the 21st of April), and I'll try to pick some peopl
AVEN T Shirt Design Contest!
In case you haven't heard yet, AVEN is getting ready to participate in SF Pride. They will be involved in several different events, including marching in the parade for their fifth year--which is where you, fellow ace artists, come in! The AVEN contingent needs t-shirts!
Club-of-Aces member AdrianVallence (https://www.deviantart.com/adrianvallence) is running a contest to choose a design to feature on these shirts, and needs your help--and submissions! So if you're an artistically-inclined member of the community--or even if you just have a really good idea that someone else might be able to sketch for you--consider entering this contest! Even if you can just think of a catchy sl

Asexuality 'House'
Greetings, everyone! :)
You might already have heard about this situation, but I thought I'd write a journal about it so anyone who hasn't can be up to date.
Most of you probably have at least some passing familiarity with a TV show called 'House'. It's a popular American medical drama, with a main character loosely inspired by Sherlock Holmes --though much more snarky-- who spends each episode 'solving' the mysterious-disease-of-the-week.
A few weeks ago, word started to spread among various ace communities that asexuality would be featured in an upcoming episode of the show. A promo video had been released that featured Dr. Wilson (anoth
