Happy New Year, everyone!
Club-of-Aces's first year has been a very happy one, made even better by the many wonderful pictures, inspiring poems and stories, and kind messages from our fantastic members. But those of you who have never submitted anything are just as highly valued to us as those who have contributed a dozen things, and you help to make this group more successful and welcoming by your very presence.
And what a presence it is! Today, we have the joy of welcoming our 300th member, TwilitReader! It's often said that asexuals are estimated to make up about one-percent of the population. That didn't sound like a lot to me when I first started Club-of-Aces, and consequently I didn't expect the group to get very big; with how many aces I've met on dA over this past year, though, I've begun to realise how truly large that single percent is. Don't ever let anyone tell you that asexuality doesn't exist, because it's clearly untrue.
Quite a few of you have mentioned the wish to meet fellow asexuals among your reasons for joining Club-of-Aces. In honour of our first anniversary, and our 300th member, I'm pleased to announce our first friending meme! (Those of you who are active members of LiveJournal or similar sites probably know how these work already, but I'll explain for anyone who doesn't know yet.)
If you're a member of this group, or even just watching it, you've probably seen the very successful Ace Meme (or other similar drawing memes) around--I don't know how anyone could have missed it, seeing how many we've got in our group gallery!--which is a list of questions with empty spaces underneath that can be filled in with drawing or text answers. A friending meme is similar in the fill-in-the-blanks aspect, but with a slightly different purpose and execution. Instead of reposting the meme to your own gallery or journal, you post your answers in a reply to the original friending post (so, in this case, this group blog post).
Whoever wants to find some new ace friends can then look over all the 'answer' comments and see if there's anyone they have something in common with, and then they can reply to that person's comment saying something like "Hey, we've got X in common!", and hopefully make a new friend!
Filling out the meme is not mandatory (you don't even have to answer every single question--pick and choose all you like, even make up your own questions if you want!), but these things usually work best when a lot of people fill them out. So, if you'd like to get to know some of your fellow group members a bit better, please post your answers. Also, after you post, check back later so you can see everyone else's answers!

Seeking co-moderator(s)
Hi there, :)
Lately, I've found myself super busy with things outside of dA, and haven't had as much time as I would like in order to give this group the attention that it deserves. For this, I greatly apologize to you all. In hopes of fixing the situation, I've decided it would be best to take on a couple of moderators, who would be able to help keep the submission queue up to date and maybe write the occasional blog post.
If you would like to help out, please send me a note with your qualifications (past experience with managing groups, how much you would be around, etc), by this Friday (the 21st of April), and I'll try to pick some peopl
AVEN T Shirt Design Contest!
In case you haven't heard yet, AVEN is getting ready to participate in SF Pride. They will be involved in several different events, including marching in the parade for their fifth year--which is where you, fellow ace artists, come in! The AVEN contingent needs t-shirts!
Club-of-Aces member AdrianVallence (https://www.deviantart.com/adrianvallence) is running a contest to choose a design to feature on these shirts, and needs your help--and submissions! So if you're an artistically-inclined member of the community--or even if you just have a really good idea that someone else might be able to sketch for you--consider entering this contest! Even if you can just think of a catchy sl
Asexuality Documentary...
Hey guys! I'm Siren, and I'm putting together an Asexuality Documentary. I need clips from asexuals, who want to share their experiences as aces. Pleaseeee help? I'd really appreciate it!
Send Your art, music, clips, ANYTHING to sirenholmes@gmail.com before the end of APRIL. thanks!
Asexuality 'House'
Greetings, everyone! :)
You might already have heard about this situation, but I thought I'd write a journal about it so anyone who hasn't can be up to date.
Most of you probably have at least some passing familiarity with a TV show called 'House'. It's a popular American medical drama, with a main character loosely inspired by Sherlock Holmes --though much more snarky-- who spends each episode 'solving' the mysterious-disease-of-the-week.
A few weeks ago, word started to spread among various ace communities that asexuality would be featured in an upcoming episode of the show. A promo video had been released that featured Dr. Wilson (anoth
